At Solidify, we are always looking to make people more productive and efficient. Our belief is that by enabling people, teams and organizations to work better, everyone benefits. In the world of software development, this often means taking a look at the current situation and trying to improve wherever it's needed. Some start by adopting agile ways of working and for others, it means figuring out the most suitable tool for what they want to achieve.

Another of our core beliefs is that continuous learning is key. Circumstances are constantly changing and the only way to stay ahead is to keep learning. Naturally, this results in one of our services being trainings and helping others on the path of learning.

And of course, we all know the impact that COVID-19 currently have on the modern work landscape. No need to explain more.

This is why we're now offering a bunch of our various trainings, events and workshops as live webinars, and we just recently held the very first one: a version of our popular Continuous Delivery in Azure DevOps! After a few quickly resolved technical issues, our own Magnus Timner ran a successful event with over 75 participants.

Continuous delivery in Azure DevOps live webinar

Just as usual, this workshop aims to teach participants how to setup and configure continuous delivery within Azure using a combination of Azure Resource Manager templates and Azure DevOps. Using a new Azure DevOps project, a Git repository for source control and an Azure Resource Manager template, all participants were given the opportunity to get their hands dirty and try out actual configuration management on a real project.

Some of the other topics covered were:

  • Automate software builds and deployments
  • Unit testing and test integration
  • Source control strategy and tools
  • Participant Q&A

Magnus Timner on the event

The event was a great success and it's nice to see that we're able to provide our services even in these troubling times. This was just the first of many similar events, as we see an increased amount of interest for this type of content. Overall, I'm very happy with the way the webinar turned out.

Overall, the event was a success and a great pilot for delivering our traditional trainings over the web. While we don't know how long COVID-19 will affect our everyday lives, we do know that we want to keep doing this type of event, both in person and as webinar.

If you're interested and want to know more about our live webinars, keep updated on our event calendar. As always, feel free to contact us regarding this type of content, or anything else we can help your with.
